There is a method, it's just a bit yagazoozie.

Upload a test copy of your video or movie.
When it has been derived the use the "Show All" button and look in the filename.thumb/ directory and check the second jpg file name. (This file cannot be edited but it is used for the preview.)
The second file name has the time it was snapped from the video.
Example: For the 60 minutes test video file below that is the 000055 file which indicates it was created from the 55th second of the movie.
For this video you would edit your original movie file and add in the Image you want at 55 seconds, just do not change the file length or frames per minute. Re-upload the video as a new item. The derive will grab the splash section at the same moment.
