Not sure if anyone else finds this interesting, but the Texas Archive of the Moving Image has a local newscast from 1964 on their website. Very few local newscasts survive from the 1960s, unfortunately:

Good Film flashback. This was 4 years after I was born. I grew up in College Station TX (Home of Texas A&M University) and we watched Houston news rather than our local one. The big city news was more exciting. I remember following the Elmore Wayne Henley and Dean Corll serial killer trial. The Pixie Stix killer who murdered his son for insurance money. Also know as the man who killed Halloween. Many other crazy things at the time. Big City Nights!!!
