There was a fairly large outage of Internet Archive content a few days ago. Things such as this have occurred in the past. Although it is often suggested as a way to alert IA administrators, I have never received a response from info@archive.org to any email. I have read several forum postings that suggest the null response is common from info@archive.org.
Would it be possible to have a separate "Internet Archive Health" site which would be accessible for users when the normal pages are experiencing a problem? I am aware that page may turn into a "Please Delete" bucket but it also might be a useful alert to IA admins when things fail.
