This is the road series for the Cleveland Indians against the New York Yankees, who came in with a 24-23 record and lead in the American League Eastern Division. This was a highly competitive and challenging series for both teams, one in which could not be won, as both teams took two of the four games.
***SEASON SPOILER BELOW***
The New York Yankees would ultimately collapse and lose out on the division to the red-hot Toronto Blue Jays, who finished their season winning 37 total games in the final two months of the season, which included winning streaks of 6 and 12 games in that span.
While the Cleveland Indians also lost out on their division to the historically dominant Minnesota Twins--who won an astounding 108 games during the regular season--they managed to stay in second place which was good enough for an ALDS appearance as the Wild Card team. They will play against the winners of the American League Western Division, the Los Angeles Angels, in what will be another familiar playoff matchup. Game one starts tomorrow at 2:30 P.M. CST on TBS.
The Toronto Blue Jays and Minnesota Twins are also facing off in the ALDS, with two games having already been played. The series is currently tied at a game apiece.
