we don't know whether anyone was hit. news4 has a crew heading to the scene. we'll update you as we learn more information. we're following new de investigation into the deaths of a local couple who died while on vacation in the dominican republic. >> the fbi is n getting involved here. the bodies of nathaniel holmes and cynthia day were returned to the u.s. earlier thisweek. dominican authorities have asked the fbi for assistance in conducting toxicology analyses. the results could take up to 30 days. dominican officials said the couple died of respiratory failure in their hotel room in may. the families want new autopsies done in the u.s. we're al learning more about the attempted murder of xformer boston red so star david ortiz who was shot in the dominican republic. investigators say the shooting was not random. six men have been arrested. police say they were paid nearly $8,000 to kill the former baseball player. a seventh suspect is still wanted. ortiz was shot at pointblank

range while sitting outside a bar earlier this week. no word on who wanted ortiz dead or why.as ortiz wlown back to the united states and is still in icu at a hospital in boston. d.c. policere lookingor shooter who killed a local man who was on his way to his son's elementary school graduation. 27-year-old darrell johnson was walking to his car on 62nd street northast when heas hit wednesday morning. the gunman fired several shots, not all of them hit johnson. we do know that several bullets went into a minivan, and one to an apartment. no one was inside time. d help finding a suspect and a motive here. the mother of joline musa had to hear how her ex-boyfriend kaled the shooter pled guilty in court wednesday, admitting to choking musa to death when she tried to end the relationship.

musa disappeared from her fairfax county home of january, 2018. was found nearly two weeks later. >> i think he needs to learn a lesson. i don't want any other young woman to fall tote the fa that jolee did. >> this is an abuser who is actually going to lose the person he wasin controllg. >> the admittediller had previously been convicted of assaulting jolene muse. he faces sentencing in september. a man who filmed dozens of women and girls trying to clothing across northern tt virginia ad he is guilty. police say he set up tiny cameras in fitting rooms in four different shopping centers across fairfax county. he recorded at least 60 women reand childn. he pled guilty to four counts of unlawful filming on wednesday. he will be sentenced in september and could fates up to eight years in prison. it's now 4:35. we're continuing to follow the breaking news in montgomery county.

police are searching for the burglarsho hit a gun shop. >> at least one officer fired shots at the scene. mental heal megan mcgrath joins us live with what we've learned there. good morning. >> reporter: good morning. this happened at e united gun shop here on randolph road in rockville. you see the active scene behind me here. the police officers on the side of this building.a s where the gun shop is located. and it appearst there's a piece of a car, possibly a bumper right there alongside -- alongside the gun shop. this began to fold early morning. officers arrived on the scene at some point here and encountered the suspects. four suspects.e and ther was a confrontation some kind. the suspects while trying to fleeme slam into a police cruiser. a police officer did fire shots. and there is an active search going on. we believe down the street. there's a second scene here further down on randolph road.
