morning, we are dealing with patchy, dense fog across the area. and the heat continues into the weekend, then some changes by sunday, i'll have all your full forecast coming up. >> good morning, everyone, so far so good. speed censors reflecting real nice morning. fifty-five on 95, 50 on the schuylkill, 54 on 476. we do have little bit of fog out there. also some construction and we'll talk about that in a little bit in my report, ukee? >> in the news, joan rivers has passed but her comedy will never be forgotten. she was a trailblazer who paved the way for today's comedian. >> "eyewitness news" reporter jan carabeo joins us now in the sat center some of her career highlights. jen, good morning. >> good morning, jones rivers spent lifetime making people laugh. she had wanted to work her entire life. and she did just that, working until her death. but her fans, it seems, couldn't get enough, even in her 81 years. now, as soon as they heard about her death, they turned out to her star on the hollywood walk of fame laying

down a wreath there. her fellow comedians have also been weighing in, saying, how big after lost this is to comedians, especially, female comedians. she was a trailblazer. she got her start in the 60s appearing on the johnny carson show, as well as becoming a guest host there in the 80s. she also re-invented herself a number of times, best selling author, a reality tv show host, and doing many other things, all the way until her death. now, we have learned that the new york state health department, even though there are no allegations of wrong-doing, here, will still investigate that clinic where she was undergoing a routine product -- procedure, her funeral sunday, much more on joan rivers life coming up in the next half hour. >> jan, thank you. and, join rivers had bound less energy, no matter where she went, you certainly heard her. >> no doubt about it, that includes a stop she made here in philadelphia. i sat down with joan back in 2009 while she talked about

specially down the shore, showers, storms, take a little while to get down there. but strong cold front tracking for tomorrow that will bring some changes, and we'll start to feel little more september-like by sunday. so storm scan3, right now locally, not showing much of anything at all. seeing some dense patchy fog out there, not really going to pick that up on this kind of a visible or infrared satellite picture, so, you just have to take our word for t we'll show you visibility coming up in just a minute. it is a little hairy out there on some spots around the roadways with half mile visibilities, near the city of philadelphia. soap, please be safe, and give yourself extra time as you head out this morning. a lot of the fog is due to the warm, moist air that has invaded the area. look at the temperatures already, 75 degrees, the temperature in atlantic city, 72 in philadelphia, and we're at 69 in millville. sixty-nine in allentown, just didn't drop much overnight with the heat and again visibilities are low. there we go. half mile, at the airport right now, down to third after mile in dover and lancaster down to 5 miles, mount pocono

1.5. again, not seeing the fog everywhere. but you can see where the pockets r philadelphia and point south, down into south philly by the airport, over into portions of camden, gloucester counties, watch out for the fog, also down through portions of delaware, as well, this morning. so, all across the region this friday, it is hot, it is humid, 88 degrees in the city, some sun with chance for afternoon shower or under this earl storm. down the shore, looking at 84 degrees, again, mostly sunny then in the poconos, some sun with chance for thunderstorm, we're at 82 for the high in the mountains. coming up. your full weekend forecast, a look at the eagles forecast, as well, and the seven day. but for now, we check in on the roads with victoria. >> good morning, looking forward to the eagles forecast, as well. and if you are headed down eagles game sunday, just note, 95, the schuylkill, packer avenue, paterson, everything is just going to be a mad house. so give yourself some more time. as we jump outside, we talk about what we're dealing with now, this is 95 not too far from lincoln financial field actually, this is 95 right around the area of bartrum

avenue. we had construction compromising the left-hand lane. notice we do have few cones set up here. traveling though, i mean, still real nice ride. no volume real toy talk b there is cents a few vehicles on the roadway, really not seeing that rush. only time we see the rush real when the sun comes up. them the rush comes in. but as of right now, very quiet, as we take a look at the ben franklin bridge, we do have westbound construction, westbound would be these headlights here, compromising two of the right hands lanes. and that will definitely get busy during the rush hour it, will stem all the way back toward admiral wilson boulevard, so plan accordingly this morning, if you are headed in the eastbound direction, the ben franklin bridge, no problems at all in regard to construction. and really, the wide looks beautiful. fifty-five on 476, a five on i95 even through the construction zones, and just green all over. northeast extension, pa turnpike, so on, so for the, just really great morning. if you are traveling the roosevelt boulevard, northbound, between ninth street and red lion, construction until 6:00 a.m. they are pavingment be minds full of closures in that area.

specifically at the boulevard and harbison, if you are traveling southbound, you won't be able to make that left just yet. ukee? >> torrey, thank you. students kick offer the new year, growing controversy over bugses in one bucks county school district the balls every recent cutbacks, bristol township school district will no longer offer bus rides for after school activities. that's forcing students to stay late to find their own way home, which isn't sitting well with a loft their parents. >> those parents cannot pick up their children, then what will happen is these kids will not be able to participate in the after school activities, which makes a loft difference when their college applications, and theirself esteem. >> now the school district did release statement saying, quote, we had to take hard look at what could be cut without compromising student learning. eliminating these under utilized late run activities buses was clearly a more responsible option, than cutting educational programs, services or teachers. a bucks county community continues to mourn the loss of three high school students

killed in a crash last weekend. later this morning, one of the victims, ryan lesher, will be laid to rest at a church in ivy lands. police say he and five others were in a car that rolled over in pawpacks township wayne county. seamus digney, and collin keffer were also killed, private services for keffer were held last night, and digney's funeral scheduled tomorrow. developing this morning, police near tampa florida have issued amber alert for a boy. four year oldies may he will is autistic. he may be with adam matos who moved to florida in july from pennsylvania's lie high county. the relationship is not clear. officials suspect matos is still in florida. update to story we first told but last night on "eyewitness news". we learned overnight a ten year old boy who was hit by a car while riding his bike has died. at loretto and longshore avenues in philadelphia's oxford circle neighborhood. police have questioned the driver, there is no word if any charges will be filed. happening today, the mayor will join us department of housing and urban development secretary, julie ann castro, on tour of philadelphia's promise zone. what philadelphia's mantua neighborhood was designate add promise zone in january, by the obama administration. it was one of the first five areas chosen for the revitalization initiative across the us. it involves combining local community resources, with support from federal agencies. >> your time now 5:08. for many, it is the most wonderful time of the year. football season kick off last night, we'll have highlights ahead, also a look at sunday's eagles game, which you can see, right here on cbs-3. >> also, embarrassing situation for the governor of delaware. we're hearing from this woman seen here in a racey tweet that was sent out. plus, what the governor's office says went wrong. >> then, parts of hawaii are

traffic and weather together. check in with kate, good morning. >> good thing for us, we don't have any active volcanoes to track in our area, always a plus on friday morning. we have some fog out there today, though, and watch for few afternoon thunderstorms. we break it all down, start out looking outside on storm scan3, which is showing, again, area of rain, showers, thunderstorms, moving through the great lakes, as front starts to push into that area, it hasn't really moved much in the past day or so, and we will see eventually that front sweep into our area as we get into later in the day tomorrow. here it is right now, see heavy rain there over portions of northern michigan n advance of the front, southwest flow, it will be a bit unsettled today, just because of the heat and humidity. you tends to see these afternoon storms, like to pop up in this heat at the very tip cap summertime pattern, of course this is some very summer like weather. we do have the warm moist air in place generating fog across the area this morning, down to half mile visibility at the airport, mount pocono, and .3 in dover, so watch out for that fog it, comes up on you quickly. here is a look at your pollen

report here for today. pollen level still in the me yum to high range today, will drop a bit, as we heed into tomorrow sunday, monday, ragweed, grasses, chenopods your predominant offenders there. let's look at showers, storms, we head into the afternoon, we see some pop up thunderstorm activity, not everywhere, but any of the storms could produce locally heavy rainment tomorrow comes the stronger front. by afternoon, 3:00 p.m., we start to see it over happy valley, maybe it stays out for the penn state game, taking on the sips tomorrow at noon. and happy valley, then by 6:00 p.m. it, gets into the north and west suburbs, clear through our area by 11:00 sat date my, then sunday looks like much nicer day. here is noon before the eagles kick off at 1:00. beautiful day. watch how moisture starts creeping back northward. have to keep close eye on that as we could be seeing the threat again for some rain next week. how it is going to feel out there, well, today feels oppressive, tomorrow as well, pleasant weather returns, low humidity by sunday. now, we check in with victoria. good morning. >> good morning, kate,

everyone, it is still a very, very nice way to start your morning, if you are traveling right now. the roadways are quiet. not too much happening. let's get you outside. see how you are doing. we take a look at 95, right around the philadelphia international airport, notice, those flashing lights there. usually, that means, that they are going to start to pick up these cones, shortly, so this is southbound 95, again, as you approach the airport, blocking the construction, left hand lanes. now, folks are moving on pipe without a problem. this is expected to be out there for just little bit longer, maybe until about 6:00 a.m. we will keep an eye on it, usually sometimes they pick up the cones little earlier. moving out of 476, no delays in either direction, really that's the theme so far this morning. it is a lot of green, and green is a great sign for you. that means speed censors high up into the 50's, 55, on 95, really all over, traveling ooh on the schuylkill expressway, 55 on 476, but do you want to be mindful of construction project in new jersey, this is 42 southbound, this is ongoing until 6:00 a.m. no delays for mass transit.

erika? >> tour, thank you, here is a look at the headlines this morning, funeral services for comedian joan rivers are set for sunday. rivers died yesterday, at age 81, after suffering a heart attack during medical procedure, more than a week ago. >> police are investigating a deadly accident, that claims the life after ten year old boy last night in oxford circle. the boy was riding his bicycle near loretto and longshore avenues when hit by the car about 8:30 last night. the driver did stop at the scene. >> anarchs amber alert in effect for four year oldies may elf florida. he's believed to be in the company of lehigh valley native, adam met owes. -- matos, now if you see either of them, you are asked to call authorities. 5:16. good news about unemployment in philadelphia. we'll have the details in the jobs report. >> also, phonecall flap. why major university's in more trouble over aa call to mo'ne

unemployment declined by 2% in the philadelphia area. there is some good news. employers increasingly say they'll offer raises based on performance. to maximize your chances of receiving one, keep a record of all of your accomplishments at work, save flattering emails, write down praise you receive. note all the times you go the extra mile. politely ask for a meeting. even if your company does not offer annual reviews. ask for more responsibility, not just more pay. that makes it easier for employers to say yes. and stay positive and calm. even if you don't immediately get a good response. give the employer some time to think about your discussion. with your philadelphia job market report, i'm steven
