rejected an appeal from elon musk over a settlement with the securities and exchange commission. the case stems from messages musk posted on twitter in 2018, in which he claimed he had secured funding to take tesla private. but the tweets caused the company's share price to jump and led to a temporary halt in trading. the settlement requires musk to get approval from his attorney before he makes any posts on x about tesla. he filed a petition with the supreme court to undo that settlement in december, arguing it limited his free speech. well, speaking of tesla, shares jumped 15% today after the electric car maker passed a big milestone to roll out its driver assistance technology in china. full self-driving is an upgrade to tesla's autopilot driver assistant. tesla has offered the technology in china for years, but in a limited capacity. that's because chinese regulators questioned whether the company took the proper precautions to protect data. today, they removed those restrictions after tesla passed the country's data security

put together what we can and move forward and texas people are struggling to get through flooded streets, thousands of people across texas, louisiana and oklahoma are still without power. and it looks i looked at the severe weather outlook really tough as we head through the next two days. i know nebraska, kansas, oklahoma. it's just going to kind of stall out and continue that chance of some severe weather for them. that's too bad. i know there's so much cleanup to still do. okay, let's talk about our weather. much more mild. we have a very nice and pleasant week ahead. yeah, it looks really great. as we head through tomorrow's forecast, we have some 70, eventually some 80. and then we're going to be tracking some wind and even the chance of some rain. yes late season rain coming up in my 7-day forecast. let's take you outside right now to that blue sky. and this just really helped us to get going on our monday. didn't it? you have so much to do this week, a lot to look ahead towards. and this just kind of really helped to take maybe the edge off a little bit with this beautiful california weather right now, 68

degrees, a little bit of breeze out of the north northwest at 18. we'll drop it down to 60 at 8:00 and some 50 later on tonight. now we're confident we'll continue with some dry weather tomorrow from this area of high pressure. it's going to keep the rain line right up towards the pacific northwest. but the way this is setting up, we do think we'll get some wind starting to come in here tomorrow and also for wednesday. and it will keep that warm weather in place. so let's go ahead and take a look at the wind here. i do want to get to that first and you'll see as we head through tomorrow morning it's ten to about 20mph. as we head through tomorrow afternoon and evening, we could see a little bit of wind starting to pop here near the coastal mountains and the north bay. anywhere from 20 to about 40mph. but we're really looking at some of the strongest gusts here. by wednesday morning, especially if you're doing traveling in the central valley, 50 plus miles per hour. and i really think on wednesday morning it would be the north bay focus here for some of the strongest gusts. 20 to 50 right there in napa would be about 30. and we'd stay with

some of these gusty winds on and off at times through wednesday afternoon. then i see that wind certainly calming down here as we head through thursday forecast. so a little bit of wind to get through here. but overall temperatures going to be pretty comfortable. i think we'll have some nice conditions here to get you out the door tomorrow morning. down in the 40s throughout the bay area. so a little bit of chill, but nothing we can't handle. 47 here for the south bay over to san francisco 49 and for the north bay right there at 45 under mostly sunny skies. look at these temperatures here in my forecast tomorrow right here across the south bay. plenty of low to mid 70s. that will put us at 73 in san jose, 75 in gilroy over to the east bay. up as warm as 77 in antioch 74 here in danville peninsula will get in on some 70s near palo alto. but really, once you head north of that and closer to the coast, that strong ocean breeze will keep us in the 50s and 60s. san francisco, 60 across the marina. and as we go across the north bay, lots of low to mid 70s. so we got a little bit of wind here
5:20 pm
to deal with through tomorrow. but by this weekend i want to fast forward things into a system we're going to be tracking and this is complicated. i think really kind of the big headline from this is if the storm track moves just a little bit more to the south, we're going to see some much higher rainfall totals with it. if it goes more off to the north, we'll see less in the way of rain. so the way that i'm putting it right now here for california, we'll have spotty rain chances to maybe the chance of some heavier pockets and temperatures certainly much colder as we look ahead towards this upcoming weekend. i can show you that here on the 7-day forecast. by saturday, san francisco down to 58 with some rain chances. look at the inland valley forecast here from 81 wednesday, way down to 63 on saturday. so right now not wet all weekend and we're going to know more as we get closer. i'll have updates also on our reservoirs coming up tonight at 530 okay. looking forward to that. thank you jeff. you got it. still to come a scary flight

after a scare on board a boeing aircraft, a piece of evidence has washed up on shore. on friday, a delta flight departed jfk airport for los angeles. the faa said shortly after takeoff, the crew heard an unusual sound and turned back around for an emergency landing. that sound was the emergency slide falling off the plane. today, that slide washed up on the shore of a beach in queens. this comes after a string of safety issues at boeing. you might recall back in january, a door plug blew off an alaska airlines flight mid-air just after taking off from sfo. as for the latest incident, the faa says it's investigating what caused the slide to fall off. delta says it is cooperating with investigators. the price of peacock is going up. we're talking about comcast's streaming service. peacock streams live sports from the nfl to the soccer's premier league. it will be one of the places you'll watch your favorite olympic games this summer as well. peacock often sees an
